Book a portrait photographer in London and the picture ends up everywhere that matters: LinkedIn, your company site, the speaker slide, the article about your work. A profile with a good photo gets up to twenty-one times more views than one without, a number worth some scepticism, but the direction is not in doubt.

Most people are running a photo they never liked. Taken by a colleague, cropped out of a wedding, four years old. That is the thing worth fixing, and it takes one session.

And the same session covers more than LinkedIn. The speaker page, the press request, the about page, the conference app. One afternoon covers all of them, in colour and black and white, cropped to fit.

HOW IT GOES

We talk first

A short call or an email before the day: what the pictures are for, who sees them, what you do not want. It saves a lot of time later.

The session

Up to two hours, in a rented studio in Poplar E14, outdoors, or at your office. Setup takes me about an hour, and most people relax after the first few frames.

You choose

You see shots as they are taken, then pick from an online proofing gallery of twenty to fifty. Retouched photos land within seven working days of your selection.

The practical bits, kept short.

How long does a session take?

Up to two hours for an individual session, plus about an hour of setup. It sounds long, but it goes quickly. The relaxed photos come once you stop noticing the camera. Teams are different: ten to fifteen minutes a person once the setup is standing, and the pictures get better when nobody is rushed.

What does it cost?

The Headshot is from £450: up to two hours, two or three looks, and twelve retouched high-resolution photos, with a live image review during the session. Additional retouched photos are £30 each. Booking for a whole team? Corporate headshots are priced separately, per head.

What should I wear?

Whatever you wear to work, so the photo still looks like you on an ordinary Tuesday. Solid colours photograph better than busy patterns, and mid-tones beat pure white or black. Bring a second option and we will try both. Glasses are fine, we will angle out the glare on the day.

Where do we shoot?

A rented studio in Poplar E14, outdoors, or your office if there is space. Each gives a different look, so tell me what the photo is for and I will say which I would pick. Outdoors gives you daylight and somewhere real behind you; the studio gives the cleanest, most even look.

How soon do I get the photos?

Within seven working days of submitting your selection. It is usually faster, but I would rather promise seven and beat it.
